Hakka Mochi Pounding or Tangyuan Rolling
"Mochi" is a traditional Hakka delicacy, also known as "sticky rice cake". It is the most sincere and generous treat given to guests during marriages, banquets and as gifts. We invite you to come visit and experience Hakka culture! In the Hakka language, there are different expressions such as "xi yuan" and "ban yuan" for tangyuan, but they all represent "completeness" and "good fortune". In the past, when the Hakka people had a good rice harvest and celebrated festivals, they would cook a pot of tangyuan (soup balls) to share with their friends and relatives. Therefore, in addition to the deliciousness of the tangyuan itself, the spirit of "hospitality" of the Hakka people is also evident.
